Spotify’s Daylist taps into emotions and moods while connecting with the enchantment (and serendipity) of Discover Weekly. As the internet has buzzed about the feature a lot lately, I think the real magic is that it both hits AND misses the mark… making the hits even more special. Most importantly, it provides a vocabulary for the emotional states and trends I oscillate through, and fosters connection and a collective language when shared with friends.

On the body
I’ve never seen The Fifth Element (1997), but just found out Jean Paul Gaultier did the costuming for the Luc Besson film. From a 2023 thread by @riaphin on X:
“korben dallas’s costuming is an urban futuristic imagination of a gender progressive hero. conventional male heroes of the late 1990’s leaning away from queer nightlife silhouettes and design themes such as straps harnesses and corsetry” Link
Fall/Winter 2024 menswear kicked off last month, womens shows are later this month, but a few trends spotted: faux-exotic leather embossing, the color burgundy keeps coming, and is the argyle trend because of that movie called Argyle?
A bunch of things that you can buy right now that I shouldn’t buy right now but you totally should:
Bottega Veneta silk pink shirt, thinking of buying an oversized oxford and having the shoulders tailored. Link
dadybones ball chain pearl necklace. Link
Uma Wang fruit-printed buttoned shirt. Paying hundreds of dollars for viscose is insane, but the Link
Prada SS24 cotton raincoat in lilac. Loved this from the gooey runway presentation, it’s price is beyond unreasonable… but can’t a girl dream? It’s nearly 33% off from Voo Berlin, compared to US pricing. Link
Camiel Fortgens red and white polo. Scratches my androgyny meets vintage itch. Link
Second-hand Puma x Kidsuper football jersey. Wear it with no bottoms. Link

I haven’t been to a wedding in almost a decade, and doubt I’ll ever have one, but these place settings are on my moodboard for a 40th birthday celebration. Green table settings; candles, mirrors, and drapes.
Sweets and savories for the aforementioned 40th birthday celebration. A mossy rock cake; moulded cookies; spotted pasta
